Mainly addresses trigger points as well as nerve compression, the posture, and biomechanical issues. This type of therapy focuses on treating the underlying muscular causes of chronic pain. This technique uses a moderate and forceful pressure with strokes designed to reach deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Deep tissue massage is more commonly used for muscle damage from injuries, as well as to relieve chronic tension. It may not be as rhythmic as the other types of massage, but it has been proven to be very therapeutic.
This technique is quite similar to deep tissue massage, but it takes massage a step further by focusing more on those who regularly engage in sports activities to help treat and even prevent injuries. It is also used to promote flexibility, help relieve muscle strains, healing after a sports injury, and even improve athletic performance.
Focusing on areas of tight, strained, and overburdened muscle fibers, this therapeutic massage technique helps alleviate pain from overworked, tense, or injured muscles, and helps treat various muscle related conditions, such as frozen shoulder and sciatica.
Many medical conditions have pain or restriction associated with either the illness or even the treatment. Conditions like arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and postoperative recovery can be addressed at the time of a massage.
Similar to the medical message, this is about helping a condition using massage. It may be similar to a sports massage, as orthopedics often deals with sports performance. After a fracture, a common reason an orthopedic doctor is needed, the muscles and scar tissue need attention. Massage can help.
The combination of chiropractic and massage therapy can greatly increase the effectivness of both therapies toward maximum health benefits.
